Frequently Asked Questions

When determining your car shipping cost, there are a few factors that we take into account in order to provide you with an accurate price quote. The mileage between the origin and destination is the biggest factor that contributes to your total rate. In addition to the distance of your relocation, another factor is the type and condition of the vehicle being shipped. The final factor is the date that your vehicle will be ready for transport.

The short answer is not much.
When a trucker transports any goods there are weight limits and weigh stations along the way. If that trucker were to exceed their maximum load weight not only is it potentially very dangerous for the trucker and other vehicles on the road, but it comes with some hefty fines from the Department of Transportation. It could also void any insurance claims should an accident occur.

When we agree to ship your vehicle we know what that make / model / year of car weighs, and we provide as part of the truck's maximum load weight. If you add additional items to your vehicle and increase the weight, it could push that truck past its safe operating point and/or cause the trucker to pay fines. More importantly according to the terms of service for your shipment, should over weight fines occur because you loaded additional items into your vehicle, you would be responsible for those fines.

Of course we do!

Enclosed trailers are a great option to protect your vehicle from normal wear and tear that may occur during transportation. Usually these trailers have low incline ramps to accommodate vehicles with low ground clearance, and typically the drivers carry higher insurance coverage.

Keep in mind however, that there is less available space on an enclosed trailer, and there are less of them on the road. Due to those factors, prices of enclosed trailers can be significantly higher. Sometimes 2 to 3 times as much as an open trailer, but if you have a collectable car, high-end-luxury car, or a supercar, its probably a good idea to ship it enclosed.

If you suspect an 18 wheeler truck cannot reach you desired drop off location please let us knows ASAP. We have several options for you, most of the time you can just arrange to meet the driver in a neutral location like a shopping center parking lot.

Other times, especially in the case of inoperable vehicles, we can arrange for specialized transportation for the last mile, for example having a tow truck meet the driver at a location they can access then tow the vehicle to your desire location. This does however carry an additional fee to what is initially quoted.

Nobody likes when this happens, but occasionally on the road things happen windows get cracked from a pebble, paint can get chipped or sometimes, something worse can happen. If it happens to you don't worry, you have options.

All our drivers carry at least $100,000 of insurance and some much more. So if damage does occur in transit it's the same as filing any other insurance claim. Simply file the claim with the driver and you should be reimbursed relatively quickly.

However, the drivers will inspect the vehicle upon pickup noting any existing damage, and will not be liable for anything pre existing.
